Residential building
The Styrock base plinth is used in residential building under window and door frames at ground level. The insulating base plinth fills the gap between sill and foundation and prevents rising damp. Styrock replaces the traditional concrete base plinth, insulation, and sometimes several layers of masonry.
Installation
Styrock is installed after setting the frame. First, a double bead kit is placed on top of the base plinth(to prevent moisture transport). Then the base plinth is clamped to the foundation with a wedge. Finally, depending on the expected load, Styrock is undercut with PU foam or grout. The shiplap on both sides makes the base plinth easy to connect and eliminates thermal bridges.
